Flower Styling at Hopewood Estate

“Featured in White Magazine

Pastel tones, bold blooms, grand architecture, enchanting gardens, peacocks and white doves, Hopewood House truly is a hidden nest of grand tranquility and charm. Perfect wedding venue nestled in Bowral, a convenient 90 minute drive from Sydney. The Dutch Colonial estate is complimented seamlessly by its original established gardens and the regions famous rolling countryside. Besides its amazing grandeur and quirky little nooks, we loved the history of this amazing estate. Established in 1884 it used to be an orphanage from the end of WWII to 1967.

With all its outbuildings, surrounding outdoor sanctuaries and eleven flowing acres of secret gardens, we had a very hard time choosing the location of our shoot. However, the massive Aviary did stand out and was the perfect backdrop for the beautiful organic flower arrangement that Jess from Kindred Florals put together. I love the way she makes such good use of a plain piece of chicken fence that she rolled up into a ball and put into the vase. This way she skilfully started building her table arrangement without branches falling out again. the stems were held in place safely with the chicken fence.

Together with Ashdown and Bee, Jess styled the table in a soft, organic and romantic fashion to complement her flower arrangements.
