Seasons of a Dancer

My very talented and beautiful friend Martha used to be a ballet dancer. Now retired from ballet and focusing on her family, she wanted me to capture and create a lasting visual legacy for her so she could always remember that part of her life. Women should be proud of who they are and what they have reached and I whole heartedly support people wanting to perpetutuate their achievements. After all, Milestones are there to be celebrated not mourned when reached and left behind.

Ballet is a very beautiful art form created by the movement of the human body. Its theatrical and dramatic performance can evoke magical, romantic and provoking emotions. Martha still very much looks and moves like the dancer she once was and I wanted to capture these emotions by showcasing the typical “seasons of a dancer”, from the beginning to the high point of their dancing life through to the end.
