Having lived in London and in New York for many years and bringing her own distinctly eclectic world of interior style to the wedding stage, owner Nadine O’Brien says its time that weddings moved away from what’s expected and we focus more on creating exciting theatre for our wedding clients. “Today’s weddings are so micro managed with endless tiney details that are cloned at every wedding across the land. The spontaneity is often lost in the stress of getting every moving part to work on the day,” Nadine explains. “And in the end, every wedding looks the same. We say turn on a show, ramp up the excitement, inject some drama! We love everything botanical and are inspired by Baz Luhrmann’s “Secret Life of Flowers’, she explains. “Even down to the edible flowers on our Spring menu by the catering team at Harry’s on Green Lane, everything’s about flowers. Somerley House is surrounded by a vast country garden. The Garden Room, where receptions are held, looks out on to the Potager Garden, all inspired by Nadine’s love for the botanical world.

This Sutton Forrest wedding venue feels more like an elegant boutique hotel. Somerley House invites couples to embrace colour, getting theatrical and escape from the ordinary giving their friends and families a show to remember.
