Have you always dreamed about a castle wedding in Tuscany? Well this elegant wedding at La Badia di Orvieto might just be the right inspiration for you! I have always wanted to create something beautiful at La Badia di Orvieto. When Janna Brown mentioned she was going to plan and style this wedding editorial, I couldn’t resist.
Why would an established photographer pay to capture an editorial rather than a real wedding you ask?
Well its a good question. Besides being able to connect with industry colleagues we rarely see, we also rarely get time to experiment. Experimenting is key to learning. And we always learn no matter how long you are in the game. We do not experiment on real weddings for obvious reasons so the only time we can truly play is at editorials. A chance to go crazy. Where it doesn’t matter if not all shots turn out great. As film photographers we tend to be a little wary about situations when light isn’t in abundance. Film is very light hungry. However I wanted to show that even in darker situations, natural light photography, can be beautiful. I adore the darker portraits and feel they give the image a painterly look. It fits much better to the actual vibe of the stone chapel.
Tuscany, I cannot wait to be back and capture a real wedding soon! If you like castle weddings you should check out this editorial in Scotland.
